Stonewood was formed in 1993 by guitarist and vocalist Ian Duvall. The early influences of Gary Moore and, particularly, his father- a noted musician himself- led Ian to form his own 3 piece rock band. With the help of Mike Horne on drums and Tim Jelliff on bass, Stonewood quickly built up a reputation in and around Norfolk. In 1996 Tim decided he needed a new challenge and migrated to Canada! As luck would have it, Ian was putting up his bass player wanted ad just as a newcomer to the area walked into the shop looking for a gig. The stranger turned out to be Chris Aylmer, powerhouse behind New Wave Heavy Rockers Samson.
Ian and Chris hit it off immediately and soon moved Stonewood up a gear or three. Their Brand of blues based rock plus a healthy sprinkling of classics past and present is gaining them respect throughout East Anglia.
